New Arrival: The Denim Utility Trouser

New Arrival: The Denim Utility Trouser

Denim jeans are an icon of Americana, and probably the most democratic pieces of menswear ever made. No matter who you are or how you dress, jeans have a secure place in your wardrobe. We've often been asked to make a pair of jeans, but truth be told there are fantastic denim specialists out there, particularly in Japan, that have that box ticked. Nevertheless, we love working with denim cloth, as evidenced by our perennial indigo-dyed organic cotton shirting and seasonal jackets that we routinely produce, but denim trousers have been a lesser-known species at Oliver Spencer.

And so it is with much excitement that we present to you our denim utility trousers that form part of our Spring 26 collection. Crafted from a midweight Portuguese denim cloth, they come in a classic straight-leg silhouette inspired by traditional workwear slacks. This utility aesthetic is underlined by the two pleated pockets at the rear. The handle is also much softer and pliable than you would expect from typical denim jeans, which can often take weeks to break in. This gives them a smarter, looser drape more akin to tailored trousers than rigid jeans. Another defining feature is the orange contrast stitching, which accentuates the seam details throughout the garment.

Refined rather than rugged, these utility trousers are supremely versatile in how you can style them, which is exactly what you want from a pair of casual denim trousers. They have the finesse to be dressed up with a shirt and jacket, but equally will feel relaxed and off-duty with a sweatshirt and sneakers. We're really pleased with how they've turned out, and are confident you're going to love them.
