We’re delighted by the stomp of new footwear arrivals we’ve received at the Oliver Spencer Studio over the last couple of weeks. The lockdown #WFH era marginalised the occasions we love to lace up for and to celebrate a return to normality we’ve pulled together five outfits dressed from the ground up!

ROBIN SWEATSHIRT SUTTON OATMEAL |
First up is the Yogi Finn II; a moccasin for the menswear enthusiasts who like to geek out on detail. The raw-leather laces, hairy suede and the contrast moc-stitch detail on the upper add depth and character that’ll patina nicely with wear. Paired here with a reverse-jacquard knitted t-shirt and a pair of our organic cotton drawstring shorts for a loose and breezy silhouette.

Whether you’re heading to the Algarve or staying put in the UK this summer (like Del here in Soho), we picture many occasions where this outfit fits the out-of-office brief. We looked at the Paraboot sandals, closed our eyes and felt that Vitamin D raining down on us! Nothing says summer more than creams and ecrus, especially on our legs and that’s exactly what these straight cut drawstring trousers do. Super relaxed, while still smart enough when you pair them with these sandals and a polo shirt.

It’s something about the clamour for routine that has brought on the admiration for clothes which reference Ivy League style and collegiate uniforms. A staple of this trend would be the classic Penny loafer - coined by the students who used to tuck one cent in their loafer for the pay phone. Partnered with a cropped, checked trouser, our posh chore jacket and a pop of colour with our Dock popover shirt. All against a backdrop of jazz, poetry and a debate on the good of counterculture and its uses within wider society. Hmm…

No summer would be complete without a plimsoll. Function, comfort and colour are all baked into these US Rubber low-top trainers. They literally are; each pair goes through a process of vulcanization which is a heating process that hardens the natural rubber sole unit. Paired here with some of our Judo shorts that feature a utility patch pocket - conveniently sized to emulate a cold beer holster - and a seersucker overshirt to add that classic summer touch.

It’s OK to go bold with footwear - case in point, Solovair’s green hi-shine Gibson shoes. Alfie’s advice would be to consider paring it down from the ankles up - let the shoes do the walking and the talking. A lightweight cotton-mix seersucker suit in Cobham Charcoal does exactly that, while an Ebley Green shirt injects some well-approved fun and texture that these shoes rightly deserve.
