Description

A substantial single-breasted winter coat, the Lothian takes its cut from a vintage German overcoat. Raglan sleeves, a storm collar latch that tucks inside when you don't need it, and a covered placket for a clean front. At the back, a reverse pleat runs almost the full length, so the coat falls easily from the shoulders. Jetted side pockets. Cut in Doughton Twill Navy, a wool twill, and made in England.

Each size is measured by our production team with the garment laid flat.
Chest and waist are measured straight across and doubled.
Sleeve length runs from the shoulder seam to the cuff.

Should I size up?

Take your usual size. There's room for a shirt or a jumper underneath. Our model is 189cm with a 95cm chest and wears a 40.

Where does it fall?

Mid-calf: 126.5cm down the back in a size 40, on our 189cm model. We deliberately wanted a longer silhouette this season, and we think there's nothing else out there quite like it.

Is it waterproof?

The Marling raincoats are water-repellent rather than waterproof: we'd rather not add the nasty chemicals true waterproofing needs, and rain runs off in a shower. The wool overcoats aren't treated, but wool copes better than you'd think. How do you think sheep cope? Let it air if it gets wet, and in a proper downpour reach for a raincoat.

Where is it made?

In England. Like most of our outerwear, it's cut and sewn here, by people who have been making coats for decades.
