Description

Modelled on a traditional Loden coat, the Lothian overcoat trades stiffness for movement. The back pleat allows the coat to fall naturally from the raglan sleeves, and features an exaggerated storm guard for practicality and proportional balance. Made in England from a wool-cotton blend, in a fine black and brown houndstooth.

Outerwear

Coats and jackets

Our men's outerwear is designed with the same philosophy as our tailoring: lasting silhouettes, relaxed construction where it matters, and fabrics chosen for their character as much as their function. Most of our outerwear collection is made right here in London. This season it includes bomber jackets, wool overcoats, pea coats, raincoats and chore jackets, hybrid styles like the Addington jacket, part bomber and part chore jacket, and leather and suede jackets. Each piece is made to move easily between work, weekends and travel.

Visit us in our London shops for expert fitting, alterations and repairs to ensure your jacket or coat fits perfectly and lasts for years.

Questions

Should I size up?
Take your usual size. There's room for a shirt or a jumper underneath. Our model is 189cm with a 95cm chest and wears a 40.
Where does it fall?
Mid-calf: 126.5cm down the back in a size 40, on our 189cm model. We deliberately wanted a longer silhouette this season, and we think there's nothing else out there quite like it.
Is it waterproof?
The Marling raincoats are water-repellent rather than waterproof: we'd rather not add the nasty chemicals true waterproofing needs, and rain runs off in a shower. The wool overcoats aren't treated, but wool copes better than you'd think. How do you think sheep cope? Let it air if it gets wet, and in a proper downpour reach for a raincoat.
Where is it made?
In England. Like most of our outerwear, it's cut and sewn here, by people who have been making coats for decades.
How do I look after it?
Dry clean only.
