The Wallpaper* Design Awards: We Won!

We're thrilled to have been awarded The Best Circular Approach for our Repurpose clothing initiative in the recent Wallpaper* Awards. It's a wonderful recognition of a project that was a long-time in the making, and one that we hope will prompt other fashion companies to do the same. It feels great that a magazine of such repute and industry-wide knowledge has seen our hard work. But it's only the beginning. For once, we hope that our competitors actually copy us and roll out similar initiatives in order to make circularity in the fashion industry the norm rather than the exception.

“We’ve always thought of ourselves as an environmentally conscious brand but this latest project really helps us accelerate towards our sustainability goals,” explains Oli. “We’re big advocates of organic cotton, linen, and locally sourced wool, and we make all of our garments in Portugal or the UK, but we can always do more. Every year 300,000 tonnes of clothes go to UK landfill, and it’s getting worse. We’re a comparatively small fashion brand, which in one sense is lucky because we’re not faced with hugely damaging economies of scale, but nevertheless, we felt like we needed to keep exploring initiatives that would reduce our environmental footprint.”

Repurpose seeks to extend the life cycle of our clothing, by giving you the opportunity to return old garments and earn credit on them. To understand how it all works, visit our Repurpose page and get involved!
