Behind the scenes: FILA x Oliver Spencer

A sleeve roll here, a turn-up of a trouser leg there and a close inspection of the monitor for tweaks throughout the day. With the FILA x Oliver Spencer collection out now, we want to take you behind the scenes of our campaign shoot with British Photographer and Director, Rankin. The co-founder of Dazed is one of the most iconic photographers within fashion and we felt that his ability to capture intimacy within his portraits are well suited to the subjects we are exploring: mental health and male friendships.

Sportswear is a key pillar for the collection so we wanted to make sure we found a location that was reminiscent of local sports teams; vintage wooden lockers that contain plenty of character and classic changing room benches that for any of you who have participated in team sports will relate to.

Oli was busy on styling duties and making sure the collection represents how we see the items being worn day-to-day. It’s vintage sportswear that allows you to transition from weekend sport to the local or simply a way of incorporating athletic nods into your outfit. Let’s take you on set inside the FILA x Oliver Spencer changing room – which by chance, has wall tiles that match our core colours – to show you how a campaign shoot comes together.
