The Bradwell Jacket: Who Wore It Best?

The Bradwell Jacket: Who Wore It Best?

We're always excited to see new garment styles break into our collections, and so it was with this season's Bradwell jacket. Oli has always loved combining relaxed tailoring techniques with workwear shapes, and the Bradwell is the latest evolution of this concept. Cut in a rich indigo-dyed cotton, the jacket riffs on railroad jackets of old and features a short lapel which can be turned up. It's a really unique piece and we've loved seeing how our customer's and friends have been styling it, so we tasked our team to put their own individual spin on the Waterford version, which is cut from a summer-ready seersucker cloth.

The maestro, Mr Spencer came bowling out the store on Lambs Conduit Street confident of victory, pairing the Bradwell jacket with a crisp white heavyweight cotton tee and a pair of ecru drawstring trousers, maximising the contrast and thus accentuating the rich nuances of the indigo dye. Myth has it that he was born in loafers, so they are naturally punctuating the outfit.

Rhys, our Oliver Spencer Studio Manager, took the tonal approach by opting to create a relaxed contemporary suit by incorporating a pair of indigo-dyed trousers, and bookending them with the soft rich patina of some coffee-tone Michael derbies by French maker Paraboot. The grey striped shirt layered over a white tee provides and nice textural contrast and gives the look more depth. The addition of the nylon Porter Yoshida 2-way bag underlines the look with an urban edge.

If you've been to our Lambs Conduit Street store recently, you will have no doubt met Ethan, who is always impeccably dressed in Oliver Spencer clobber. He's taken the Bradwell jacket and introduced some colourful elements to it, and quite rightly -navy is a great base tone to wear with other colours. He's gone with a soft mauve tee and our new William trouser in brown, which is a cropped cargo style, only without the side pockets, resulting in a slightly more minimalist finish. The brushed green suede Gibsons - part of our Solovair collaboration - are a really nice textural touch, too, while the brown Porter Yoshida tote adds to the look's tactility.

Steve, our Assistant Store Manager at our Berwick Street store in Soho has underlined the Bradwell jacket's workwear DNA by pairing it with a Grandad collar shirt, which is a great summer duo when you're after a slightly elevated aesthetic. The black fishtail trousers are a super versatile addition to your wardrobe, while the cream Moonstar kicks bring the lighter elements of the look together as well as offering a vintage twist.
