Eyevan 7285

Founded in 1972, Eyevan has been the Japanese holy grail of handcrafted eyewear ever since, specialising in a classic minimalist frame aesthetic. The brand hails from Sabae City in the Fukui Prefecture in the north, the so-called “City of Glasses” because of its concentration of highly skilled craftsmen, who hone their skills over decades rather than years. Eyevan’s metal parts are mostly hewn from titanium alloy, selected for its light weight and tensile strength. One of the first brands sold by Oliver Peoples in the 80s, Eyevan has since flown under the global radar. Highly sought after by Japanese design aficionados, in 2018 the brand relaunched to great acclaim and is now, we think, one of the very best framemakers and tastemakers in the eyewear industry.
