Walk a mile in our shoes...

Our shoes are very important to us at Oliver Spencer. As you may or may not know we produce our Oliver Spencer line of shoes in Northampton, England. So, we sent Shopkeeper Josh, of our clothing, accessories & Men's shoe shop, (Lambs Conduit Street), to the factory for a tour and demonstration as to how the shoes are made. Josh talks us through his visit.
We were given a full manufacturing tour by the head supervisor at the factory, I must say I’ve never met a man so passionate about shoes, having worked there for 25 years and knowing every manufacturing process on the factory floor inside-out. It was great to see a man take so much pride in his work and the quality of shoe he produces.
The tour was exceedingly insightful into the quality of our shoes, highlighting ways that corners could be cut to reduce the cost of a shoe and more importantly the impact on the quality and lifetime of the footwear. Our guide was very pleased with the fact that we do not cut any of these corners and that we strive for only the very best quality in our shoes.
After being shown the entire manufacturing process, from a skin of a cow to a finished shoe, it was genuinely astonishing how much work goes in to each and every shoe and how scrutinous the quality checks are. It is obvious that these shoe are worth every penny, in fact for what you are getting they are a bargain and worthy of the investment!
